From the Dec 30, 2025 e-Edition
McKENZIE, Tenn. — Kyle Emery Chapman went to glory on Wednesday, December 25, 2025. He was the second of three children born to construction worker, Marvin Leon Chapman and his wife, Pauline Joyce Chapman, on May 17, 1951.
He was born at Nobles Hospital in Paris, Tennessee. Kyle lived his entire life of seventy-four years in McKenzie, Tennessee.
Visitation is Sunday, December 28, from 5:00—8:00 p.m., and Monday, from 11:00 until the time of the service at 1 p.m., all at McKenzie Church of Christ.
After high school graduation, he attended McKenzie’s vocational-technical school. He soon became an instructor at the Carroll County vo-tech school and served on the board. He also served on the Farm Bureau board.
When he was fourteen years old, he was baptized into Christ by Kenneth Edwards at the McKenzie Church of Christ, where he served the Lord for the past sixty years. It was when attending worship that he met Alice Jean Kizer, and after a few years of dating, they were married on August 20, 1981. Chapman worked in many roles as teacher, grocer, and farmer, but he served the entire McKenzie area as the service manager for the Ford dealership, where he labored for more than forty years.
He was diagnosed with cancer in 2023 and had to leave the job for which he was so greatly loved at the age of seventy-one.
Kyle Emery Chapman was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Chapman, and his mother, Joyce Chapman.
He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-four years, Alice; his sisters, Debby (Dan) Simon and Valerie (Ken) Sanders; nine nephews and nieces; and twenty-one great-nephews and nieces. Because of his powerful influence for good and his quiet and peaceful demeanor, Kyle Chapman will be sorely missed.
