Lady Bulldogs Defeat West Carroll
From the Apr 28, 2026 e-EditionGLEASON (April 23) — Gleason High School softball hosted West Carroll Thursday, and the host Lady Bulldogs coasted to an 18-4 win in five innings.
Gleason struck first with four runs in the bottom of the first. The Lady War Eagles answered with three in the top of the second, then tied it with one in the third. The Lady Bulldogs regained the lead with two runs in the third, then pulled away with a dozen in the fourth.
Lady Bulldog Marley Crews was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, four RBIs and two runs scored. Ava Bennett was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBIs and two runs scored. Emma Pettit was 2-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. Zoe Healy was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Kristiana Addison was 1-for-1 with a double, a walk, three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Olivia Scarbrough was 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Haylye Roberts was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored. Sophie Beasley was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Kinley Baumgartel was 0-for-1 with two walks, three runs scored and two stolen bases.
Lady War Eagle Abby O'Bryan was 1-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Ava Martinez was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases. Mackenzie Finley was 1-for-1 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Candy Mulligan was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Hayden Weaver was 0-for-1 with two walks and a stolen base.
Emma Pettit got the start for Gleason, allowing four earned runs on five hits while walking three and striking out two in two and a third innings. Marley Crews pitched the final two and two-thirds innings and earned the win, allowing no runs, hits or walks with one strikeout.
Hayden Weaver took the complete-game loss for West Carroll, allowing 18 earned runs on 13 hits while walking 11 and striking out two.
