Lady Rebels Defeat Clarksburg in Play-In

McKENZIE (April 30) — McKenzie High School hosted Clarksburg for a play-in game to the District 12A Softball Tournament Thursday afternoon. The host Lady Rebels had a big first inning and coasted to an 8-3 win to advance to the double-elimination tournament. The loss ended the season for the Lady Rockets.

McKenzie started strong with five runs in the bottom of the first frame, then added one each in the second and third. Clarksburg got on the board with three runs in the top of the fifth. The Lady Rebels added a run in the sixth.

Lady Rebel Braylin Auvenshine was 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and one run scored. Haylee Beard was 1-for-4 with a home run. Kynadie Brown was 2-for-2 with two doubles and a walk. Aurora Johnson was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Danie Parker was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Ridley Holt was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Addyson Littleton was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, a run scored and two stolen bases. Kailie Hudgins was 1-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Maggie Hall was 0-for-4 with an RBI.

Lady Rocket Carlie Swinford was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Addison Milam was 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Lydia Scott was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Molly Williams was 1-for-3. Cari Glosson was 0-for-1 with two walks and a run scored.

Aurora Johnson earned the complete-game win for McKenzie, allowing three earned runs on four hits while walking three and striking out five.

Addison Milam took the complete-game loss for Clarksburg, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 12 hits and two walks.
