Lady Rebels Defeat West Carroll

McKENZIE (March 17) — McKenzie High School hosted West Carroll Tuesday for a softball contest. The Lady Rebels dominated both sides of the ball for a 17-1 win in three innings.
McKenzie scored three runs in the bottom of the first and added five more in the second. West Carroll plated a run in the top of the third, but the Lady Rebels scored nine in the home half to end the game.
Lady Rebel Maggie Hall was 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBIs, three runs scored and four stolen bases. Kailie Hudgins was 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases. Kynadie Brown was 1-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored and five stolen bases. Addyson Littleton was 1-for-1 with two walks, an RBI, three runs scored and five stolen bases. Haylee Beard was 1-for-2 with a walk, three RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Kamdyn Tharpe was 0-for-0 with three walks, an RBI and a run scored. Aurora Johnson was 0-for-1 with two walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Ridley Holt was 0-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Braylin Auvenshine was 0-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
Lady War Eagle Gracelyn Vernon was 0-for-0 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases.
Braylin Auvenshine got the three-inning, one-run no-hitter for McKenzie, allowing one earned run on a walk with five strikeouts.
Gracelyn Vernon took the loss for West Carroll, allowing 15 runs (12 earned) on six hits while walking 12 and striking out one in two innings. Presley Coleman pitched a third of an inning of relief, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits with no walks.

McKENZIE (July 31) — McKenzie High School hosted Obion County Central Friday evening for an all-Rebel scrimmage at the MHS practice field. The host Rebels looked strong on both sides of the ball, especially during the varsity portion of the contest.
