Lady Rebels Defeat Westview, Rebels Tie

McKENZIE (April 14) — McKenzie High School hosted Westview Monday for district tennis matches. The Lady Rebels earned their first win of the season, 5-2, and the Rebels drew 3-3 against the Chargers.
The Lady Rebels were 4-1 in singles play with wins by Ashley Dunavant (8-2 over Sophie Bowlin), Kyla Beveridge (9-8 over Rylan Diehl), Willow Arnold (8-0 over Audri Dowdy) and Morgan Little (8-2 over Cami Carlson). Ava Hastings fell to Gryphon Roland (8-5).
In doubles play, Beveridge and Arnold topped Diehl and Dowdy (8-3). Hastings and Dunavant fell to Roland and Bowlin (8-2).
The Rebels were 2-2 in singles play with wins by Davarion Gilbert (8-5 over Carter Peevyhouse) and Caleb Burke (9-7 over Isaac Ostenson). Alex Garcia fell to Alistair Braddock (8-5), and Owen Walker was defeated by Dylan Parker (8-5).
In doubles play, Burke and Gilbert topped Peevyhouse and Ostenson (8-5). Garcia and Walker fell to Parker and Braddock (8-6).
