Lady Rebels Edge Bradford on Eighth Grade Night

McKENZIE (September 19) — The McKenzie Middle School Lady Rebels wrapped up the softball season Thursday as they hosted Bradford and celebrated Eighth Grade Night. The Lady Rebels won a back-and-forth battle, 5-4, over the Lady Red Devils.
Prior to the first pitch, Lady Rebel eight grade players were recognized on the field and joined by their parents.
Eighth graders are Laila Willen, daughter of Carla Wagner; Zariyah Townes, daughter of Paige McClerkin and Bryan Townes; Kamdyn Tharpe, daughter of Raven and Trell Tharpe; and Ridley Holt, daughter of Lindsey and Matthew Holt.
Ruthie Adkins earned the win in the circle for McKenzie, allowing four runs on three hits while striking out eleven and walking five.
Charlie Cassidy and Macy Brooks led the Lady Rebel offense with two hits and two RBIs each. Laila Willen and Ridley Holt drew two walks each.
