McKenzie Lady Rebels Win Two, Honor Seniors

McKENZIE (September 3, 5) — The McKenzie High School Lady Rebels earned a pair of lopsided wins last week, defeating Obion County 6-2 Tuesday and South Fulton 9-0 Thursday.
Following the Thursday victory (called via mercy rule at the half), senior members of the team were recognized on the field, joined by their parents.
Lady Rebel soccer seniors are Kortnee Brown, daughter of Justin and Kristi Brown; Laken Fisher, daughter of Valarie and Justin McMackin and Adam and Heather Fisher; Allie Walker, daughter of Josh and Madeline Walker; Hannah Lee, daughter of Junior and Laura Lee; and Rachel Essary, daughter of Jason and Kim Essary.
All five seniors are four-year members of the team.
In Tuesday’s 6-2 win over Obion County, Allie Walker had a hat trick (three goals) for McKenzie, while Kaydynce Barksdale, Katlynn Hoffman and Kynadie Brown each had one goal. Ava Hastings had a pair of assists, and Stephanie Padilla had one assist.
Goalkeeper Rachel Essary had three saves in the victory.
In Thursday’s 9-0 rout of South Fulton, Walker had a hat trick and a pair of assists. Hannah Lee also had a hat trick. Kaydynce Barksdale scored a pair of goals. Stephanie Padilla had one goal and one assist, and Ava Hastings had two assists.
The Lady Rebels begin district play Tuesday as they host Westview at 5 p.m.

McKENZIE (July 31) — McKenzie High School hosted Obion County Central Friday evening for an all-Rebel scrimmage at the MHS practice field. The host Rebels looked strong on both sides of the ball, especially during the varsity portion of the contest.
