Lady Rebels Lose District Game Despite Two Homers
From the Mar 18, 2025 e-EditionERIN (March 14) — McKenzie High School opened district softball play Friday with a road contest at Houston County. The host Lady Irish took an early lead, but the Lady Rebels pulled closer with fourth-inning home runs by Braylin Auvenshine and Ady Freeman before falling, 8-5.
Lady Rebel Ady Freeman went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Braylin Auvenshine was 1-for-4 with a home run (for one RBI and one run scored). Carli Beeler went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Maggie Hall was 1-for-1 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored. Aubrey Jackson went 1-for-4 with a run scored.
Aurora Johnson took the complete-game loss for McKenzie, allowing eight runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out two and walking two over six innings.
