Lady Rebels Earn District Win at McEwen, 10-3

McEWEN (March 21) — The McKenzie Lady Rebels traveled Friday for a district softball contest at McEwen and slugged their way to a 10-3 victory.

McKenzie struck first with four runs in the top of the second inning. McEwen answered with a pair in the home half and cut the deficit to one with a run in the third. The Lady Rebels added a run in the fourth, then sealed the win with five in the seventh.

Lady Rebel Jaycee Stafford went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Kailie Hudgins was 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Addison Milam hit 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Braylin Auvenshine went 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Aubrey Jackson batted 1-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Maggie Hall was 1-for-5 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Aurora Johnson went 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Carli Beeler was 1-for-5 with an RBI.

Aurora Johnson earned the complete-game win for McKenzie, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits while striking out six and walking none.
