Lady Rebels, Mustangs, Central's Holder Earn State Championship Berths
From the Nov 4, 2025 e-EditionDRESDEN (October 28) — Carroll County will be well-represented at the 2025 TSSAA Cross Country State Championships with two teams and one individual qualifying after their performances in the Class A Section 3 regional meets on Tuesday.
McKenzie's girls team finished as the Section 3 runner-up to claim a state berth. Abigail Wallace was the individual runner-up, and three other Lady Rebels finished in the top 20 to earn medals. Autumn Haywood was fourth, Bella Sass was ninth and Sophie Dameron was 14th.
Huntingdon's boys team earned fourth to advance. Mustang Blaine Todd claimed the individual crown and Shawn Simpson finished fourth.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton's Madison Holder earned an individual berth with a fifth-place finish.
Section 3 includes 28 boys teams and 26 girls teams.
The state championship meets for Division 1, Class A are Thursday, November 6 at Shelby Farms Park in Cordova (near Memphis).
The boys meet begins at 11:30 a.m., and the girls meet follows at 12:20 p.m. Awards for Class A are at 1 p.m.

McKENZIE (July 31) — McKenzie High School hosted Obion County Central Friday evening for an all-Rebel scrimmage at the MHS practice field. The host Rebels looked strong on both sides of the ball, especially during the varsity portion of the contest.
