Lady Rebels Dominate Season Opener

McKENZIE (August 13) — The McKenzie High School Lady Rebel soccer team opened their season on a high note Tuesday, hosting Haywood and cruising to a 7-0 win.
Lady Rebel Allie Walker scored four goals and had one assist. Stephanie Padilla had a pair of goals and an assist. Goalkeeper Rachel Essary earned the shutout with two saves and scored a goal as well.
The team traveled to Mayfield, Ky., Saturday for a pair of games in the Cardinal Classic.
McKenzie drew, 2-2, against Graves County. Walker and Zayda Scates each scored a goal, Padilla had an assist, and Essary had five saves.
The Lady Rebels were defeated 4-0 in their second game.
The team continues the season Thursday, traveling to Gibson County for a 6 p.m. start.
