Lady Rebels Sweep JCM in Straight Sets

McKENZIE (September 2) — The McKenzie High School Lady Rebels hosted Jackson Central-Merry Tuesday for a district volleyball match and took the win in straight sets.
McKenzie dominated the first set, 25-6, and won the next two comfortably, though the visiting Lady Cougars fared better (25-13 and 25-15, respectively).
The Lady Rebel JV team also won straight sets, 25-9 and 25-20.
McKenzie's varsity win was led by Jaycee Stafford with a dozen aces and five kills, Kynadie Brown with six aces and six assists, Molly French with five kills, Braylin Auvenshine with two assists and five kills and Addison Milam with two aces and two kills.
Kynlee Barden had a combined 16 aces in the JV and varsity matches, and Ridley Holt had ten aces and two kills.
In JV play, Ava Newman had four aces and two assists, and Natalia Taylor had two assists.
With the win, the Lady Rebels improve to 2-1 (2-0 in District 12A).
