Lady Rebels Win First Road Match

JACKSON (September 4) — The McKenzie High School volleyball team traveled for the first time in their inaugural season and earned a 3-1 district match win over Jackson Central-Merry.

The road victory came two days after the Lady Rebels swept JCM at home.

McKenzie nearly swept the Lady Cougars again, winning the first two sets 25-16 and 25-23, but JCM rallied to take the third set, 25-21. The Lady Rebels sealed the victory with a 25-17 score in the fourth set.

The Lady Rebel JV team won their first set, 25-14, but the Lady Cougars took the next two, 25-18 and 15-13.

Leading McKenzie's varsity win was Kynadie Brown with ten aces and 14 assists. Jaycee Stafford had nine kills and four aces. Molly French had seven kills and two blocks. Addison Milam had six kills and four blocks. Braylin Auvenshine five kills and two assists. 

Ridley Holt had a combined 12 aces and two kills in the JV and varsity matches, and Kynlee Barden had 12 aces.

McKenzie moves to 3-1 on the season, 3-0 in District 12A.
