Lady Rockets Edge Bradford, 5-4
From the Apr 28, 2026 e-EditionBRADFORD (April 21) — The Clarksburg High School Lady Rockets traveled Tuesday for softball against the Bradford Lady Red Devils. The visiting Lady Rockets took an early lead and held on for a 5-4 victory.
Clarksburg struck first with two runs in the top of the first inning, adding a run each in the third and fourth. Bradford got on the board with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Lady Rockets added one in the fifth, and the Lady Red Devils scored two in the sixth.
Lady Rocket Ivy Swinford was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Carlie Swinford was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Natalie Scott was 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Molly Williams was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases. Cari Glosson was 1-for-2. Alyssa Belew was 0-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.
Lady Red Devil Paige Allen was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Olivia McAfee was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Cara Copous was 1-for-4 with a stolen base. Sophie Matlock was 0-for-3 with two RBIs.
Carlie Swinford earned the complete-game win for Clarksburg, allowing four unearned runs on three hits while walking to and striking out three.
Olivia McAfee got the start for Bradford, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits while walking one and striking out two in three innings. Cara Copous pitched the final four innings, allowing two unearned runs on two hits while walking none and striking out four.
