Lady Tigers Defeat Clarksburg

BRUCETON (April 16) — Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School softball hosted Clarksburg Thursday for a district contest. The host Lady Tigers had a big second inning and cruised to a 13-1 win in four innings.

Central scored eight runs in the second. Clarksburg's lone run came in the top of the third, and the Lady Tigers responded with four in the home half. Central tacked on a run in the fourth to end the game early.

Lady Tiger Emy Olds was 3-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored. Addison Tucker was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Madison Holder was 1-for-2 with a triple, a sacrifice fly, two RBIs and a run scored. Amelia Bennett was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Cloe Morgan was 1-for-1 with a walk and an RBI sacrifice fly. McKenzye Castleman was 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Abby Baker was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Lilly McGee was 0-for-2 with a walk, three RBIs and two runs scored. Kyleigh Baker was 0-for-1 with a walk.

Lady Rocket Brooklyn Laws was 1-for-1 with a run scored and a stolen base. Lainey Glosson and Natalie Scott were each 1-for-2.

Kyleigh Baker earned the complete-game win for Central, allowing one unearned run on three hits while walking none and striking out seven.

Addison Milam got the start for Clarksburg, allowing no runs, hits or walks with one strikeout in one inning. Carlie Swinford pitched the final two and a third innings and took the loss, allowing 13 runs (three earned) on 11 hits and three walks.
