Lady War Eagles, Rockets Claim Wins

CLARKSBURG (December 9) — Clarksburg High School hosted West Carroll Tuesday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady War Eagles built a lead over the first three quarters for a 46-32 win. The Rockets pulled away early to claim a 60-32 victory.
West Carroll Lady War Eagles 46, Clarksburg Lady Rockets 32
The Lady War Eagles had a 13-7 lead after the opening frame, led by Aubrey Hammett with seven points, including a three-pointer. Taylor Robinson, Marissa Mueller and Chloe Rimmer each had a pair. Lady Rocket Addison Milam hit a three, and Carlie Swinford and Cari Glosson each had a pair.
West Carroll had a 13-9 edge in the second quarter, led by Robinson with six points. Hailey Mitchell scored four, Alayna Lovelace had a pair, and Hammett hit a free throw. Swinford led Clarksburg with four points. Molly Williams hit a three-pointer, and Makenna Bolen had a pair. At the half, West Carroll led 26-16.
The Lady War Eagles had a 14-7 advantage in the third, led by Mitchell with six points. Robinson scored four, and Lovelace and Hammett each added a pair. Milam led the Lady Rockets with four points, including a three. Swinford had three points. Entering the final frame, West Carroll led 40-23.
Clarksburg rallied 9-6 in the fourth for a closer final, led by Glosson with four points. Milam hit another three-pointer, and Bolen added a pair. Hammett, Rimmer and Mitchell each added a pair for West Carroll.
Three Lady War Eagles led all scorers with 12 points each: Taylor Robinson, Aubrey Hammett (with a three-pointer) and Hailey Mitchell.
Addison Milam led the Lady Rockets with ten points, including a trio of threes. Carlie Swinford had nine points.
Rockets 60, War Eagles 32
Clarksburg jumped out to a 12-3 lead after the first frame, led by Trae Cobb with seven points, including a three-pointer. Erin Dickson also hit a three, and Clay Glosson had a pair. Chandler Rimmer had all three West Carroll points.
The Rockets had a 10-4 advantage in the second quarter, led by Weston Vestal with four points. Cobb and Dickson each hit a three. Rimmer and Mason Taylor each had a pair for the War Eagles. At the half, the Rockets led 22-7.
Clarksburg enjoyed a 27-14 tilt in the third, led by Cobb with five points, including a three. Glosson and Jake Miller each scored four. Dickson, Garrett Bartholomew, Reagan Hatler and Kannon Hampton each hit a three-pointer. Vestal added a pair. Taylor led West Carroll with four points. Bryler O’Neal and Trey Williamson each hit a three, and Rimmer and Demarion Gilbert each had a pair. Heading into the final frame, the Rockets led 49-21.
The fourth quarter was an 11-11 wash. War Eagle Isaiah Snyder scored six points with a three-pointer. Taylor had three points, and Gilbert added a pair. Cobb, Dickson and Vestal each hit a three for Clarksburg, and Richie Lewis had a pair.
Rocket Trae Cobb led all scorers with 18 points, including four three-pointers. Erin Dickson scored a dozen, all on threes.
Mason Taylor led West Carroll with nine points.
