Leadership Carroll County Program Underway
From the Sep 17, 2024 e-EditionThe Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Carroll County (LCC) is an annual program for business leaders consisting of nine sessions and a community service project.
The sessions include information on health care, government operations, education, county demographics, economic development, agriculture, professional development and more.
Natalie Porter, Chair of the LCC program, said, “The goal of the Leadership Carroll County program is to provide our participants with information about the life and work of Carroll County and to identify the issues, challenges, and opportunities that our county will face in the coming years.”
Leadership Carroll County is comprised of nine members representing businesses all over Carroll County:
Drew Beeler is the owner of Hometown Hangout and has resided in McKenzie for 22 years. Drew is also attending the University of Memphis.
Hannah Belew is the senior HR generalist at Granges and resides in Huntingdon. She is also a member of the West TN SHRM and attended Freed-Hardeman University.
Kayla Boyd is from Huntingdon and is a customer services coordinator at Granges. She hopes to learn more about the daily work in Carroll County.
Jordan Allen is from Huntingdon and is a controller at Carroll Bank and Trust.
Chris Finley lives in Bruceton and is principal of Hollow-Rock Bruceton Central High School and head coach of the boys’ basketball team.
Natalie McMasters is director of the Carroll County Civic Center and resides in Huntingdon. She is a member of Huntingdon First Baptist Church and coaches Huntingdon Softball League.
A.J. Maxwell lives in McKenzie and is a senior survey technician at L.I. Smith and Associates. He serves on the McKenzie Planning Commission and has been in the Tennessee Army National Guard for six years.
Beth Smothers works at Life Care Center as an admissions director and is from Camden. She is also the secretary at Faith Driven Ministries.
Nathan Wallace is the assistant principal at Huntingdon Middle School. He is also a deacon at Huntingdon Church of Christ.
The Chamber of Commerce has operated leadership programs since 1990. Approximately 1,010 individuals have gone through both the Adult and Youth Leadership programs. The leadership sessions are an excellent opportunity to network with class members and presenters.

Paris Landing Arts and Crafts Festival is September 12-13
The 26th annual Paris Lakeway Kiwanis Club Arts and Crafts Festival at Paris Landing State Park features over 115 local and regional crafters displaying and selling their handmade and hand-crafted items. The setting at Paris Landing State Park provides visitors with great views while shopping. There will also be food and beverage vendors, as well as a petting zoo. Admission and parking are free.
