Recently, Dr. Lee Carter, Chairman of the Huntingdon Special School District Board of Education was recognized by the Tennessee School Board Association as a Level 5 Master School Board Member. Only 5% of current school board members in Tennessee have received this recognition.

Achieving the Level 5 Master Board Member designation is earned by board members who submit a portfolio to the TSBA including their work in policy development, a self-evaluation, colleague referrals, evidence of advocacy, an essay, and a demonstration of teaching or mentoring activities.

Four individuals were recognized from West Tennessee at the TSBA conference for achieving Level 5 status.

Dr. Carter has served on the Huntingdon School Board for 24 years.
