Keeping Your Money in Your World
From the Oct 15, 2024 e-Edition
The world of finance is a tangled web of numbers, laws, needs and services that can be overwhelming to the average individual or small business owner.
Matthew Aird of Lewis, Aird & Associates describes finances as “a junk drawer” in need of organization. His firm offers a unique approach to providing clients with the strategies to achieve their financial goals and save, protect and grow their businesses.
Lewis, Aird & Associates is a financial services firm based in McKenzie and Henderson and serving Carroll, Henry, Chester and Madison counties.
Aird is a financial professional and the McKenzie face of the firm. He met Scott Lewis when the two worked together at AIG. After Scott’s brother, Dewane Lewis Jr., left AIG for Penn Mutual (now 1847 Financial), where he is now a managing principal in Nashville, Scott and Matt soon followed suit and opened Lewis, Aird & Associates under the 1847 umbrella.
Aird is a native of Wisconsin. He moved to McKenzie in 2000 when his wife, Misty, was hired as the Bethel (College) head women’s soccer coach. He taught public school for several years before entering the financial industry. They have three children, including daughter Maggie, who is the company’s marketing/HR director.
At its core, Lewis, Aird & Associates is a family company, just with two families. Scott, his son, Brandon Lewis, and his niece, Amber Dotson, are financial professionals at the Henderson office.
Aird noted that his firm doesn’t replace an accountant, a bank, a lawyer, etc., but rather works with those professionals to coordinate and make strategic decisions.
“We use the LEAP system, looking at your whole financial plan, from your car insurance to your house insurance to your investments,” Aird told The Banner. “We’ve got a game board we put it all on, and then we make strategic money moves. Money you’re already spending, maybe we can keep it in your world.”
Lewis, Aird & Associates offers a multitude of personal services including mortgage protection, life insurance, financial/insurance services/products, annuities, education funding, mutual funds, money management, qualified plan rollovers, estate planning and retirement planning. Business services include employee retention/benefit plans, business valuations, social security info, business financial services/products, buy-sell, key man, REBA and tax efficiency.
Aird said, “If you want more than the return of your money in the market, you should come see us. If you want out-of-the-box thinking and saving, come see us. We’ve got lots of ideas to implement. If you don’t want to just throw your money in the market and hope for the best, come see us. If you want to keep your money in your world and have access to it, come see us.”
Both the Airds in McKenzie and the Lewises in Henderson are active in their communities, giving back whenever there’s a need or opportunity, in particular supporting and donating to local athletics and academics.
