Local Students Offered Austin Peay State University Scholarships

CLARKSVILLE (August 3) — Multiple local students were offered scholarships from Austin Peay State University for the fall semester of the 2026-27 academic year. The Dean’s Scholarship, Governor’s Merit Scholarship and Governor’s Excellence Scholarship award first-year students based on their previous academic efforts.

Bennie Cockerham of Greenfield and Alexandra Wilson of Paris each received the Dean’s Scholarship for having a 3.85-3.99 GPA entering their freshman year. More than 260 incoming first-year students were offered the scholarship this semester.

Bridget Sixberry of Paris and Malayia Phelps of Martin each received the Governor’s Merit Scholarship for having a 3.5-3.69 GPA entering their freshman year. More than 230 incoming first-year students were offered the scholarship this semester.

Jaxon Blaski of Paris, Sanaah Dennie of Huntingdon, Raychel Oliver of McKenzie and James Grimm of Lavinia each received the Governor’s Excellence Scholarship for having a 3.0-3.49 GPA entering their freshman year. More than 230 incoming first-year students were offered the scholarship this semester.
