10 Years Ago — The Chamber Golf Tournament had 100 golfers and 30 volunteers for the event. The first place team for the first flight was Hamilton Ryker, made up of players Parker Jones, Troy Jones, Joe Saganski, and Stan Welch.
*At the Class of 2014 graduation Michael Keenan played the Star Spangled Banner on the trumpet.
25 Years Ago — Eric Travis was president the outstanding senior advertising award by Dr. Jeanne Scafella, chair of the department of journalism and mass communications at Murray State University.
*Lindsey Reid was president the Student Council President’s award for McKenzie. She coordinated multiple events and helped with activities for her basketball and football homecoming.
50 Years Ago — McKenzie High School golf team beat 9 other teams in the District 13 tournament. McKenzie Beat second place Milan by 13 strokes. Frank Ridley was low for the tournament with under par 71. Ben Howard under par 77, Jim Everett 78, Kendell Moore 82.
*The McKenzie Chapter of the United States Jaycees received special recognition from Employers Insurance of Wausa for their contributions to the improvement of emergency medical service.
*McKenzie High School Junior High Band won first place at the Strawberry Festival in Class D. under the direction of Mr. Charles Pruneau.
75 Years Ago — National Stores corporation sold shoes that were the smartest styles, nicest quality and for all occasions. All of the shoes were less than five dollars.
* Moore Tire Service had a sale for ten days where they sold Good Years Tires for 9.95.
