10 Years Ago — Miss Tennessee, Shelby Thompson Visits Oak Manor. She visited with the elderly people and gave them autographed photos.
*Grillin and Chillin BBQ cooking team took top honors in both local and state level competitions.
*25 student leaders graduated from Carroll County Youth Leadership Program. This program taught a variety of topics as well as exposure to a wide array of jobs available in Carroll County.
25 Years Ago — The Mayor of McKenzie, Patty Edwards, started her day off with a 15 pound catfish at Paris Landing.
*Sandy Adams traveled across the world to do her student teaching in Germany and England. She taught a fifth grade class at Watts Primary School in Birmingham, England.
50 Years Ago — Mrs. James Greer of McLemoresville chose to help her community by teaching Vonna Greer, Alecia Bigham and Jeruna Cullough how to sew.
*Kenwin shops selected Mrs. Aultie Reynolds as mother of the year. She was 84 years old and lived in McKenzie with her daughter. She had 6 children and 30 grandchildren.
75 Years Ago — The McKenzie Park Theater showed Eddie Dean “Check your Guns”, Russell Hayden in “Sons of Adventure”, and “Canadian Mounted.”
*Terminal Motor Company offered car repairs for vacation time.
