From the Feb 4, 2025 e-EditionMcKENZIE, Tenn. - Funeral services for Lottye Ruth Choate are Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday 1 p.m. until service time. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.
Mrs. Choate, 95 years old, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her daughter’s residence in Jackson.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, and a retired dental assistant for Harold Russell, DDS. She was born in McKenzie on August 27, 1929, to Grady and Mary Morgan Coleman.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Don) Matlock of Jackson, a sister, Floy Teague of Olive Branch Miss., four grandchildren, Kelly Maynard, Kim (Billy) Borneman, Brad Davis and Karl (Mary) Davis and nine great-grandchildren, Brett Sampson, Kelsey Borneman, Amberleigh Cooper, Brandon Cooper, Alex Davis, Kylan Borneman, Brody Davis, Ryan Davis and Eli Davis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Edward Choate, brothers William Coleman, Johnny Coleman, and Jimmy Coleman, and sisters Geneva Coleman McDonald and Rebecca Coleman.
