From the Nov 18, 2025 e-EditionBRUCETON — Mrs. Martha Jo Freeland, 93, of Bruceton died Thursday at the Eiffel Gardens Assisted Living in Paris, TN, surrounded by loved ones.
Services were Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Bruceton First Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Purcell officiating. Burial was at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Freeland was born in Hollow Rock, Tenn., on March 20, 1932, to the late Joe Neal Prince and Helen Leverne Scates Prince. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William A. Freeland, and a brother, Kneeland E. Prince. Martha was a long-time member of the Bruceton First Baptist Church and a retired secretary/bookkeeper for the Hollow Rock/Bruceton School District.
She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Hawtof (Ivan) of Greenbrae, California, and Betsy Evans of Paris, Tenn.. She also leaves one granddaughter, Stephanie Douglas Hamlin, and one great-granddaughter, Emily Nicole Hamlin, both of Paris, Tenn.
