McKENZIE — McKenzie Special School District Board of Education meets Tuesday, September 7, 5:30 at McKenzie Middle School Library. On the agenda is an address by Dr. Amanda Mansfield Finley, a hospitalist at Henry County Medical Center and a graduate of McKenzie High School. Also on the agenda is Dr. Megan Higgins, a pediatrician with HCMC.
Following their address to the board, an agenda item includes reconsidering a mandated mask requirement. In August, the Board voted to recommend, but not require face masks for teachers nor students.
In other business, the board will:
Election of Board Chairman.
Election of Vice-Chairman and Treasurer.
Election of Tennessee Legislation Network member and alternate.
Consider for approval budget amendments to the McKenzie Special School District School Funds.
Consider for approval, on second reading, the following amendments to the McKenzie Special School District Board of Education Policy Manual: 1.8011 Emergency Closings; 3.205 Security; 4.204 Summer School; 4.205 Enrollment in Advanced Courses; 4.213 Family Life Education; 4.301 Interscholastic Athletics; 4.605 Graduation Requirements; 4.700 Testing Programs; 5.106 Application and Employment; 6.200 Attendance; 6.202 Home Schools
Hear from Dr. Amanda Finley.
Hear from Dr. Megan Higgins.
Consider for approval temperature checks at all buildings daily.
Consider for approval system-wide mask mandate.
