From the Nov 19, 2024 e-EditionTREZEVANT, Tenn. - Funeral services for Maxine Whitehead are Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Haven Baptist Church, Milan. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment is to follow at Trezevant Cemetry.
Mrs. Whitehead, 86, died Thursday at NHC Milan. She is a retired nursing aide at Huntingdon Hospital and a member of Republican Grove Baptist Church, Trezevant. She was born in Gibson Co. on May 1, 1938 to John and Autry Morgan Hunter.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis( David) Broach of Milan, two brothers Mike Hunter of Paris and Herman Hunter of Fowlkes, Tenn., two grandchildren, Brittany (Logan) Harris and Amanda (Chase) Climber and three great grandchildren Vivian Harris, Halston Harris and Henry Climber.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Whitehead, son, Jimmy Whitehead, a sister, Sandra Kinnick, and six brothers, Howard Harper, Billy Hunter, Jerald Hunter, Joe Hunter, Jimmy Don Hunter and Gary Hunter.
