McKenzie Remains Atop TSWA Class A Poll
From the Sep 24, 2024 e-EditionNASHVILLE — The Tennessee Sports Writers Association announced football rankings after Week 5 on Monday, with the poll presented by CoachT.com.
McKenzie remains in first place in Class A, claiming all of the first-place votes for the first time. Gordonsville had received at least one first-place vote each prior week, but suffered their first loss last week.
Huntingdon holds steady at seventh in Class 2A, but a highly-anticipated region contest against Milan (tied for fourth) Friday could shake things up.
Westview gained sole possession of fourth place in Class 3A after sharing the rank with an idle Meigs County last week.
Top ten teams in each of the six Division I classifications and Top 5 in three Division II classes were selected by TSWA members with first-place votes in parentheses and total points based on 10 points for a first-place vote through one point for a 10th-place vote.
