McKenzie Dominates Stewart County, 12-0

McKENZIE (April 7) — McKenzie Middle School hosted Stewart County Tuesday for a conference baseball game between two sets of Rebels. McKenzie was dominant on both sides of the ball for a 12-0 victory in four innings.

McKenzie scored eight in the first inning and four in the second.

McKenzie's Seth Stafford was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Rex Thompson was 1-for-1 with a sacrifice fly, two RBIs and a run scored. Lane Brown was 1-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Leighem Broyles was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. Dierks Ghyers was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored. Jake Ghyers was 1-for-3. Reed Gaskins was 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored. Jackson Barden and Kenden Coleman were each 0-for-2 with a run scored.

Stewart County's Silas B. was 2-for-2 with a double.

Kenden Coleman earned the complete-game shutout win for McKenzie, allowing two hits with no walks and one strikeout.

Braylon W. took the complete-game loss for Stewart County, allowing 12 runs (four earned) on seven hits while walking three and striking out three.
