McKenzie Falls to Obion County

McKENZIE (April 6) — McKenzie High School tennis hosted Obion County Monday for district matches at Bethel University's courts. Obion County swept their matches, with the girls winning 7-0 and the boys winning 4-0.
In girls' singles, Obion County's Lindsey Webb defeated Ava Hastings (8-1); Micah Poore defeated Ashley Dunavant (8-5); Libby Carman topped Raychel Oliver (8-1); Lily Wright bested Morgan Little (8-1); and Laura Hooks topped Lillian Brown (8-3). In exhibition, Anna Heathcott defeated Lola Sumrok (8-2).
In girls' doubles, Webb and Carman defeated Dunavant and Hastings (8-4) and Poore and Heathcott bested Oliver and Little (8-3). In exhibition, Wright and Hooks topped Brown and Sumrok (8-1).
In boys' singles, Obion County's Braden Elam defeated Owen Walker (8-1); AJ Gammons topped Tobey Brooks (8-0); and Bronson Pergande bested Davarion Gilbert (8-2).
In the lone boys' doubles match, Elam and Sam Cunningham defeated Walker and Brooks (8-1).

McKENZIE (July 31) — McKenzie High School hosted Obion County Central Friday evening for an all-Rebel scrimmage at the MHS practice field. The host Rebels looked strong on both sides of the ball, especially during the varsity portion of the contest.
