McKENZIE (September 15) — McKenzie High School began its Homecoming festivities Monday, continuing all week leading up to the football game Friday night.

Each day this week has a dress-up theme. Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is Character/Movie Day and Wednesday is Generations Day (freshmen are babies, sophomores are toddlers, juniors are adults and seniors are… seniors). Thursday, students dress as something that starts with the first letter of their names, and Friday is Red and Gray Rebel Day.

Each class is decorating a set of lockers and creating a banner to be displayed at the stadium.

On Wednesday and Thursday, classes will participate in intramural competitions.

Friday will be a day full of activities throughout the school, leading up to the downtown Homecoming parade.

The parade begins downtown at 12:30 p.m. and ends at the stadium at McKenzie Middle School, where a citywide pep rally will be held.

Friday night, the McKenzie High School Alumni Association Decades Reunion begins with a tailgate at Rebel Stadium at 4:30 p.m.

The crowning of the Homecoming Queen is 6:30 p.m., followed by kickoff of the game against Camden at 7 p.m.

Five seniors make up the Homecoming royalty: Carli Beeler, Olivia Cantrell, Morgan Little, Nadia Sisemore and Charli Weatherford.
