McKENZIE (May 19) — McKenzie High School boys' soccer celebrated a successful season with a banquet Monday.

Head Coach Karlene Brown welcomed everyone, and Coach Jeremy Bilger gave a blessing before guests enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Hometown Hangout.

Brown praised the team for a "really good season", thanked the seniors for their years of dedication and told the rest of the team "start working now… get prepared for next year."

Each player and manager was presented with a certificate and a t-shirt.

Awards were presented by Bilger and Brown.

Aiden Mason and Alex Garcia were named Mid-Field Players of the Year.

Eian Gibson and Triztan Vela were named Rookies of the Year.

Coach Awards were presented to Branson Baker, Tyler McCalister and Ramon Renteria-Tellez.

Morgan Christman and Eli Vinson earned Sportsmanship Awards.

Guillermo Hickman was named Offensive Player of the Year.

Jony Hernandez was Most Improved.

Nate Dameron was named Goalkeeper of the Year.

Skyler Fornera earned the All-Rounder Award.

Hickman and Fornera were named Co-MVPs.

The two coaches then spoke about each of the four seniors, Fornera, Hickman, McCalister and Dameron, and about the two international students, Schreitmueller and Garcia, who would not be returning to McKenzie. Brown and Bilger praised them for their growth and leadership and wished them success in the future.

Brown presented Bilger a plaque in appreciation of his tenth season as a volunteer coach.

The coaches offered tokens of thanks to the booster club members as well as Teddy Hickman, Victor Vela, Danielle Case and this reporter.

Finally, the seniors presented gifts to the two coaches.

The event concluded, but guests lingered for photos and fellowship.
