McKENZIE (September 19-20) — This weekend was the 95th McKenzie High School football Homecoming and the second annual McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) Decades Reunion.

Friday was chock full of events for high schoolers, alumni and all Rebel fans.

A golf scramble was held at Carroll Lake Golf Club in the morning. At midday, the Homecoming parade made its way from downtown to the middle school, where a citywide pep rally was held at Randy Thomas Field.

That afternoon, the Decades Reunion tailgate party was held at the stadium for alumni, faculty and staff.

The presentation of the Homecoming royalty and crowning of the queen preceded the football game (a big win for the Rebels).

After the game, the city hosted a block party downtown with a DJ and several businesses staying open late.

Nine classes of MHS graduates hosted reunions on Saturday, and the MHSAA hosted a casual reunion for alumni from the 1950-60s at First United Methodist Church.

For several weeks leading up to the big weekend, a popup memorabilia exhibit was displayed at The Happy Book Stack.

NOTE: More photos from reunions will be published in the following weeks as they are received. If you had a class reunion during football homecoming 2025, please submit photos and information to brad@mckenziebanner.com. Thank you.
