McKenzie Hosts Season-Opening Jamboree

McKENZIE (August 12) — The high school cross country season began Tuesday with a jamboree at the city park including runners from host McKenzie High School as well as Huntingdon, Hollow Rock-Bruceton, Westview, Lexington, Obion County, Greenfield, Fayette Ware and Augustine.

Medals were awarded to the top 20 finishers in the girls' and boys' races, respectively.

MHS Cross Country Coach Beth Mathis expressed her appreciation to everyone who participated in and spectated the event. She offers special thanks to McKenzie Parks Director Billy Hollowell and the parks department. Mathis told The Banner, "Every coach commented on how beautiful our course was, and that is all thanks to Billy and his crew!"
