From the Aug 5, 2025 e-EditionDriving on Suspended — Janessa K. Gilbert, 29, Cotham Drive, Huntingdon, was charged with Driving on Suspended on July 28.
Patrolman Dustin McClure initiated a traffic stop on Gilbert, knowing her license was suspended. Ptlm. McClure verified Gilbert’s suspension status and cited her to court.
Drug Paraphernalia — Christopher J. Stewart, 45, Donnell Avenue, McKenzie, was charged for Drug Paraphernalia on July 30.
Investigator Steven Scott stopped Stewart’s vehicle for due care violation and asked to search the vehicle. In his search, Investigator Scott found one gram of marijuana, a high supply bottle, a metal tray and rolling papers. The high supply bottle and metal tray had marijuana residue.
Stewart received a warning for due care and was cited into court for drug paraphernalia.
Theft — Kendrick D. Wharton, 35, West End Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Theft on July 30.
Patrolman Daniel Pollard responded to a house on McDonald Avenue in regard to a stolen weedeater. The victim reportedly told Ptlm. Pollard that Wharton stole his lawnmower and Stihl weedeater. The victim recovered the lawnmower but not the weedeater.
After two attempts, Ptlm. Pollard was unable to make contact with Wharton. The victim decided to press charges on Wharton when police locate him.
Public Intoxication — Kenneth E. Whitson, 56, Walnut Circle, McKenzie, was arrested for Public Intoxication on July 30.
Patrolman Daniel Pollard responded to a call from Walnut Circle regarding a white male cussing out the caller. Ptlm. Pollard identified Whitson, who reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and person and slurred his speech.
Ptlm. Pollard placed Whitson under arrest.
Driving On Suspended — Susan Carter Coplin, 60, Hamilton Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Financial Responsibility and Expired Registration on August 1.
Patrolman Dustin McClure initiated a traffic stop on Coplin for her license violation, during which he noticed that her vehicle’s registration was expired. Coplin advised she did not have her drivers license with her at the time.
Ptlm. McClure verified that Coplin’s license was expired and that her vehicle was uninsured. She was cited into court.
Driving on Suspended — Chris M. Moses, Jr., 40, Paris Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License on August 3.
Patrolman Dustin McClure initiated a traffic stop on Moses in reference to the license violation and verified the license suspension. Moses was cited into court for Driving on Suspended (2nd).
