From the Feb 3, 2026 e-EditionDUI — Christopher Halters, Union Cross Road, Wildersville, was charged with DUI, Driving on a Revoked License, Violation of Implied Consent, and Vandalism on January 28 after he crashed a UTV into the Carroll County Humane Society.
Officer Matthew Cunningham charged Halters as he was attempting to leave the scene of the accident; however, the all-terrain vehicle was stuck in the tree line next to the business.
A person inside the business said she heard the UTV before it crashed into the building. She phoned the police and reported the driver and the vehicle were at the tree line.
The UTV owner gave permission for Halters to drive the vehicle. She was aware of a prior DUI conviction. The vehicle was impounded, and Halters was arrested.
Possession of Controlled Substances — Troy N. Townsend, McCadams Road, McKenzie, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance on February 1.
Officer Timothy Dillon stopped Townsend’s vehicle because the officer was aware Townsend did not have a driver’s license. During the stop, Officer encountered a strong odor of marijuana and asked Townsend and his passenger to step outside of the vehicle.
Sergeant Cody Coleman and his canine officer responded to the scene. The canine alerted and a small amount of illegal drugs was taken as evidence.
Driving on Revoked, Speeding — Nathaniel Lee Noah, Belmont Street, Paris, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License, Speeding, and No Display of Registration Plate on January 29.
Officer Matthew Cunningham stopped Noah’s vehicle, which was traveling 60 in a 40-mile-per-hour zone. He was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.
