McKenzie Police Reports

Aggravated Criminal Trespass — Jamie Lee Garrison, Highway 70, Cedar Grove, was charged with Aggravated Criminal Trespass on February 13.

Officer Timothy Dillon responded to Reynolds Street, where a female resident stated that Garrison entered her residence after being banned from the property previously. Garrison stated he was attempting to retrieve his wallet and phone from the resident. Garrison had parked at a neighbor’s house and walked over to the residence where he was banned.

Garrison was arrested on charges of Aggravated Criminal Trespass and Possession of a Controlled Substance after a green-leafy substance believed to be marijuana was located in the car. Garrison was transported to Carroll County Jail, and his car was impounded.

Evading Arrest — James W. Yon, Jr., Park Cove, McKenzie, was charged with Evading Arrest, and two outstanding counts of Violation of Protection for previous incidents in Weakley County and Milan.

Officers Lt. Justin Brister, Assistant Chief Trey Boucher were dispatched to Park Cove in relation to a verbal argument involving Yon. The witness stated Yon had a knife and also described Yon’s clothing. Officers searched the area for Yon, but were unsuccessful. They were dispatched back to the area as Yon had returned. Yon fled on foot, went through Walnut Circle, and was again spotted by Assistant Chief Boucher, who pursued him on foot and successfully apprehended Yon.

Yon was charged with Evading Arrest, transported to Carroll County, and held for authorities in Milan and Weakley County on outstanding charges.

Theft of Property — James Blake, Highway 79, McKenzie, was charged with Theft of Property after he was accused of employee theft of a battery from O’Reilly Auto Parts. The total price was $309.48.

Officer Timothy Dillon filed a misdemeanor citation of theft on February 10. Blake is to report to Carroll County General Sessions Court.

Syringes Found — McKenzie Police Officer Daniel Pollard was dispatched to a store, where two syringes with an unknown substance inside were found on the floor of the women’s restroom. The incident occurred on February 14.
