Theft — Fred Morris, owner of Homefinders, contacted McKenzie Police stating that one of his recently evicted tenants had stolen items from the house he were evicted from.

Morris states that Mark Russell was recently evicted from an Elm Street residence. After he was removed from the residence on a Writ of Possession, Homefinders employees discovered there was a stove and refrigerator missing that was provided with the rental property.

According to the report, Russell has never filed a police report that someone stole his stove or refrigerator which makes him responsible for the items being missing. Russell denies having taken the items and was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court for Theft of Property Under $1,000.

Multiple Charges — On Friday evening, May 13, Officer Trenton Ruddy responded to a call regarding a suspicious white male in the Gazebo at Veteran’s Park. Ruddy located him in the park and found him to be Dale Morgan, 41, of Dresden. Ruddy proceeded to run a warrant check on Morgan and was advised by dispatch that he had warrants in Weakley County and also a Violation of Probation from Milan Police Department.

Morgan was arrested and searched during which a hypodermic needle was found halfway full of a liquid that field tested positive for Meth.

McKenzie Police transported him to Not Higgs where custody was transferred to Weakley County. Morgan was cited for Simple Possession of Schedule II and was advised to book into Carroll County Jail within 10 days of his release from custody.

Assault and Canine Running at Large — Cody Floyd stated to Officer Trey Boucher that between 6 and 7 p.m. on Sunday evening, May 15, he was in the parking lot of a Stonewall Street residence when a dog belonging to Gerald Fuzzell ran after him aggressively.

Floyd told Boucher that when he confronted Fuzzell about the dog, he tackled him and knocked him to the ground and spit on him. Two witnesses pulled Fuzzell off of him. He was cited for simple assault and dog at large and given ten days to be booked into Carroll County Jail.
