McKenzie Police Reports
From the Jul 14, 2026 e-EditionVandalism — A North Stonewall resident reported vandalism to her kitchen sink and cabinets on June 29.
Officer Daniel Pollard filed a report stating that the resident reported someone entered her home, smashed the kitchen sink and cabinets and poured some kind of white powder down the sink. The victim stated her kitchen pipes are now crooked and loose. The house alarm sounded after a two-minute delay and the person escaped.
Shoplifting — E.W. James and Sons Supermarket reported a shoplifting incident on July 8.
Sergeant Kyle Beauchamp and Patrolman Timothy Dillon responded to the supermarket, where two store associates reported the theft of merchandise.
According to the report, a man and woman entered the store, walked through the store with a shopping cart, and exited without paying for the merchandise. Surveillance cameras captured images of some of the stolen items, but not all. The subjects departed in a black Kia Sorento.
Child Abuse and Neglect — A Oak Street resident was charged with Child Neglect and Abuse on July 9.
Officers Rembert and Beauchamp responded to a situation in which three children under the age of 12 were concerned for their safety after being chased by Autum Curtright of Oak Street, McKenzie. The children left the house and went to a relative’s house. The report indicated that Curtright chased the children and she was possibly intoxicated.
Autum Curtright was charged with three counts of Child Neglect/Abuse.
Criminal Trespass — Jannie Leone, no address listed, was charged with Criminal Trespass on July 8.
Officer Michael Cunningham responded to E.W. James Supermarket, where a female had been in the store in violation of an active ban for her to stay off the property. The subject refused to leave and stated she wanted to purchase some milk. The report stated Leone caused a disturbance.
Theft — A 5-foot by 8-foot utility trailer was stolen from a North Main Street address. Matthew Quinn of Puryear stated the lock was cut from the tongue.
Officer Timothy Dillon filed the report.
Leaving the Scene with Damage — Marvin Gaston, Highway 423, McKenzie, was charged with Leaving the Scene with Damage and Driving on a Revoked License on July 8.
A parked car at the Dollar Tree was hit by a driver who then drove away without reporting the incident. Surveillance cameras at the store showed the vehicle and two men entered the vehicle and hit the parked vehicle.
Gaston was identified as the driver. He was cited into General Sessions Court for Leaving the Scene, Driving on a Suspended License, and Violation of Financial Responsibility.
