McKENZIE (February 26) — On Thursday, the McKenzie Rotary Club took a meaningful step towards fighting hunger in McKenzie by donating 12 food boxes to the McKenzie Police Department. These essential boxes are a crucial resource, allowing officers to provide nourishing meals to residents in need when they encounter them in our community. Ricky Price, president, and Armand Hebert, vice-president, from the Rotary Club, promised Chief Ryan White that they would continually replenish these boxes, ensuring ongoing support for those facing food insecurity.

Each box is filled with comforting, easy-to-prepare items, including soups, cereal, canned tuna, macaroni and cheese, and other generous donations. The McKenzie Rotary Club begins an unwavering mission to eradicate hunger in McKenzie and the surrounding area. Hebert stated, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to E.W. James, our dedicated community members, and the brave responders of McKenzie for their unwavering support in this vital initiative! Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.”

As this project takes root, the McKenzie Rotary Club will look to expand its collection and distribution process. The club plans to partner with other groups, organizations and companies to extend its reach in helping those in need.
