McKenzie School Board to Meet August 6
From the Jul 30, 2024 e-EditionThe McKenzie Special School District Board of Education meets Tuesday, August 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the central office.
The board will install Baylee Barden as the student board representative.
Also on the agenda:
*Approval of amendments to the policy manual regarding Visitors to the Schools, Personal Property Sales (Surplus Property Sales), Emergency Preparedness Plan, Security, Student Transportation Management, Basic Programs, Family Life Education, Use of Artificial Intelligence Programs, Interscholastic Athletics, Reconsideration of Instructional Materials and Textbooks (and Library Materials), Promotion and Retention, Physical Assault Leave, Substitute Teachers, Qualifications and Duties of the Director of Schools, School Admissions, Code of Conduct, Zero-Tolerance Offenses and Suspension/Expulsion/Remand (Suspension), Admission of Suspended or Expelled Students, Opioid Antagonist and Reporting Child Abuse.
*Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding between McKenzie Police Department and McKenzie Special School District for SRO services.
*Approval of the MSSD Disciplinary Hearing Authority: Tonya Brown or designee, McKenzie Elementary; Dorethea Royle or designee, McKenzie Middle; Kelly Spivey or designee, McKenzie High; and other district supervisors, as required. Members of the DHA are appointed to one (1) year terms and subject to reappointment at stated in Student Disciplinary Hearing Authority Policy.
*Discussion of addition of tennis (boys and girls) at McKenzie High School.
*Discussion of proposed projects: McKenzie Middle School gym bleachers, McKenzie Elementary School exterior painting, new scoreboards at Rebel Stadium and McKenzie Middle School gymnasium.
