McKenzie Splits Doubleheader with Clarksburg

McKENZIE (March 17) — McKenzie High School hosted Clarksburg Monday for a softball doubleheader. The Lady Rockets took Game One 8-5, but the Lady Rebels bounced back to take a 9-2 win in Game Two.
Game One: Clarksburg Lady Rockets 8, McKenzie Lady Rebels 5
Clarksburg started strong with four runs in the top of the first and two more in each of the next two innings. McKenzie got on the board with a pair in the bottom of the third, adding two more in the fourth and a final run in the fifth.
Lady Rocket Addison Milam went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Lainey Glosson was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Carli Swinford was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Brooklyn Laws hit 1-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Alyssa Belew went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Libby Autry was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Morgan Peterson was 0-for-1 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base.
Lady Rebel Kailie Hudgins was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Jaycee Stafford went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Braylin Auvenshine was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Aubrey Jackson was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Aurora Johnson was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Carli Beeler went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Molly French was 1-for-3. Maggie Hall was 0-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Ady Freeman went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Addison Milam got the start for Clarksburg, allowing four earned runs on five hits while striking out two and walking two in three and two-thirds innings. Morgan Peterson pitched an inning and a third in relief, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out one and walking two.
Braylin Auvenshine threw the complete game for McKenzie, allowing eight runs (three earned) on seven hits while striking out five and walking two over five innings.
Game Two: Lady Rebels 9, Lady Rockets 2
McKenzie struck first for five runs in the top of the first. Clarksburg answered with a pair in the bottom half, but the Lady Rebels added three in the second inning and one in the third.
Lady Rebel Braylin Auvenshine went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and a run scored. Maggie Hall was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Aubrey Jackson went 2-for-2 with a walk, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Jaycee Stafford hit 1-for-1 with a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Aurora Johnson was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Carli Beeler went 0-for-1 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base. Ady Freeman was 0-for-2 with an RBI.
Lady Rocket Alyssa Belew went 1-for-1 with a solo home run. Carli Swinford was 0-for-1 with an RBI.
Aurora Johnson threw the complete game for McKenzie, allowing two unearned runs on one hit while striking out three and walking none in two innings.
Morgan Peterson got the start for Clarksburg, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on seven hits while walking three in an inning and two-thirds. Addison Milam pitched the final inning, allowing no runs or hits and walking one.
