McKenzie Sweeps West Carroll

McKENZIE (October 27) — McKenzie Middle School hosted West Carroll Tuesday for a pair of basketball games, their third home set of the season. The Lady Rebels earned a 27-22 win with a big third quarter. The Rebels and War Eagles kept it close, but McKenzie secured the 36-25 win.
McKenzie Lady Rebels 27, West Carroll Lady War Eagles 22
The Lady War Eagles began the first quarter with a 3-2 lead on a three-point shot by Camilla Jenkins. Lady Rebel Kristy Towne had two points.
West Carroll kept it close and held a 9-8 lead at the end of the second quarter. Annalise Porter had two pairs, and Aliveah Harrell had a pair. Lady Rebels Willow Stenberg, Abby Carroll and Kristy Towne each had a pair.
The Lady Rebels took the lead, 19-11, in the third quarter against West Carroll. Carroll had two pairs and two free throw shots. Towne had two pairs and one free throw shot. Lady War Eagle Kate Jackson had two free throw shots.
Lady Rebels secured the 27-22 win in the fourth, Carroll with two pairs, along with Stenberg and Serenity Bobo each having a pair. Jenkins had two three-point shots for West Carroll. Harrell had a three-pointer, and Porter had a pair.
Abby Carroll led the Lady Rebels in scoring with 12 points, Kristy Towne scored nine points, and Willow Stenberg scored four points.
Camilla Jenkins led the Lady War Eagles with nine points, and Annalise Porter had six points.
Rebels 39, War Eagles 22
McKenzie started the first quarter with a lead of 12-5. Rebel Seth Stafford scored three two-point shots and a free throw shot. Lane Brown and Dierks Ghyers each had a pair, and Navadius Owens hit a free throw shot. War Eagle Dhamyus Gilbert scored a three-pointer, and Kaleb Martin had a pair.
McKenzie extended their lead to 19-9 at halftime. Rebel Seth Stafford hit a three-pointer and two pairs. War Eagle Kaven Baker and Chris Pruitt each had a pair.
The Rebels extended the lead with a 23-17 score after the third quarter. Brown and Stafford each had a pair. Pruitt had two pairs and a free throw shot. Gilbert hit a three-pointer.
McKenzie further extended the lead in the fourth for the 36-25 win. Rebel Seth Stafford had two pairs and six free throw shots. Brown had a pair, and Fisher Allen hit a free throw shot. War Eagle Gilbert hit two threes, and Pruitt had a pair.
Seth Stafford led the Rebels with 26 points. Lane Brown scored six points.
Dhamyus Gilbert led the War Eagles with 12 points, followed by Chris Pruitt with nine points.
