McKenzie Sweeps West Carroll

McKENZIE (November 5) — McKenzie Middle School hosted West Carroll Tuesday for a pair of basketball contests. In a low-scoring game, the Lady War Eagles dominated the first half, but the Lady Rebels stormed back late for a 16-14 win. The Rebels took a big lead early and coasted to a 43-16 victory.
McKenzie Lady Rebels 16, West Carroll Lady War Eagles 14
West Carroll jumped out to an 8-1 lead after the opening frame. Chloe Rimmer scored all eight, including a pair of three-pointers. MaKayla Dabbs hit a free throw for McKenzie.
The Lady War Eagles had a 4-3 edge in the second quarter on buckets by Annalise Porter and Abbi O’Bryan. Lady Rebel Alleigh Britt hit a three. At the half, West Carroll led 12-4.
McKenzie started the rally with a 4-2 third-quarter advantage on baskets by Charlie Cassidy and Abby Carroll. Kinsley Poff had a pair for West Carroll. Entering the final frame, the Lady War Eagles led 14-8.
The Lady Rebels blanked West Carroll 8-0 in the fourth to complete the comeback, led by Carroll with three points. Cassidy and Kristy Towne each had a pair, and Ellie Doede hit a free throw.
Lady War Eagle Chloe Rimmer led all scorers with eight points, including a pair of three-pointers.
Abby Carroll led McKenzie with five points.
Rebels 43, War Eagles 16
McKenzie stormed out to an 18-1 lead after the first frame. Seth Stafford, Dawson Reeder and Parker Ross each scored six points. War Eagle Ian Pearson hit a free throw.
The Rebels had an 8-6 edge in the second, led by Stafford with four points. Ross and Davon Webb each had a pair. Lukas Pratt scored four for West Carroll, and Kaleb Martin had a pair. At the half, McKenzie led 26-7.
McKenzie had an 11-7 advantage in the third, led by Stafford and Ross with four points each. Lane Brown scored three points. War Eagle Isaiah McClain scored five points, including a three-pointer, and Martin added a pair. Heading into the final frame, McKenzie led 37-14.
The Rebels capped the win with a 6-2 tilt in the fourth, led by Hudson Garrett with a three-pointer. Reeder added a pair, and Kenden Coleman hit a free throw. Iseiah Stensrud scored two for West Carroll.
Rebel Seth Stafford led all scorers with 14 points. Parker Ross scored a dozen, and Dawson Reeder had eight points.
Isaiah McClain led West Carroll with five points, including a three.
