McKenzie Sweeps West Carroll

ATWOOD (November 20) — West Carroll Junior High hosted McKenzie Thursday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Rebels pulled ahead early and coasted to a 30-19 win. The War Eagles also fell behind quickly, but rallied late before the Rebels sealed a 44-35 victory.
McKenzie Lady Rebels 30, West Carroll Lady War Eagles 19
The Lady Rebels jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the opening frame, led by Kristy Towne with four points. Willow Stenberg scored three, and Macy Brooks had a pair.
McKenzie had a 9-2 advantage in the second quarter, led by Towne with seven points. Brooks added a pair. Annalise Porter had a pair for West Carroll. At the half, the Lady Rebels led 18-2.
The third quarter was a 6-6 wash. Aliveah Harrell scored all six for the Lady War Eagles. Stenberg had four McKenzie points, and Towne added a pair. Entering the final frame, the Lady Rebels led 24-8.
West Carroll rallied 11-6 in the fourth for a closer final, led by Camilla Jenkins with six points on a pair of three-pointers. Harrell also hit a three, and Kate Jackson had a pair. Stenberg led McKenzie with four points, and Serenity Bobo had a pair.
Lady Rebel Kristy Towne led all scorers with 13 points. Willow Stenberg scored 11.
Aliveah Harrell led West Carroll with nine points, including a three-pointer. Camilla Jenkins scored six on a pair of threes.
Rebels 44, War Eagles 35
McKenzie had a 10-6 lead after the first frame, led by Seth Stafford with eight points. Fisher Allen had a pair. Christ Pruitt led West Carroll with four points, and Kaven Baker had a pair.
The Rebels had an 11-9 advantage in the second quarter, led by Stafford with seven points, including a three. Allen and Lane Brown each had a pair. Pruitt led the War Eagles with four points. Baker scored three, and Drake Herndon had a pair. At the half, McKenzie led 21-15.
West Carroll cut the deficit with a 12-11 edge in the third, led by Herndon and Baker with five points each. Pruitt added a pair. Stafford led the Rebels with six points. Brown hit a three-pointer, and Allen added a pair. Heading into the final frame, McKenzie led 32-27.
The Rebels capped the win with a 13-8 tilt in the fourth, led by Stafford with ten points. Brown added a pair, and Allen hit a free throw. Pruitt and Baker each scored four for West Carroll.
Rebel Seth Stafford led all scorers with 31 points, including a three-pointer. Fisher Allen had eight points, and Lane Brown scored seven with a three.
Chris Pruitt and Kaven Baker led the War Eagles with 14 points each. Drake Herndon scored seven.
