McKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for Melissa Reeder are on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will be at Finley Cemetery.
Mrs. Reeder, 53, died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Friday, November 28, 2025. She graduated from McKenzie High School and Tennessee Technology Center and was a phlebotomist for 33 years.
She worked at McKenzie Medical Center, Christian Family Medicine, Waddell Clinic, and Lab Corp. After retiring as a phlebotomist, she worked at Centennial Bank as a bank teller.
She was born on January 7, 1972, in Huntingdon to John Gilbert Hicks and Jo-Ellen Woodard Jacobs. One of Missy’s talents was helping and taking care of others, whether on a mission trip to another country, caring for one of her patients, or assisting with a client. Above all, she loved her family.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Terry Reeder, her children, Tyler (Brittany) Reeder and Austin (Keliea) Winstead, her siblings, Shannon (Brad) Jones, Shane Melton, Martha Schepman and OC Melton, her mother, Jo-Ellen Jacobs and her grandchildren, Tariq Robinson, Dawson Reeder, Hudson Reeder, Hunter Winstead, Hannah Winstead, Harper Winstead and Holden Winstead.
