MHS Alumni Association Donates to Local Schools

McKENZIE (November 6) — The McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) made $300 donations to each of the three schools Wednesday. The monetary gifts were made to support different programs for local students in need, including the Backpack Buddies program at McKenzie Elementary, access to school supplies at McKenzie Middle, and personal hygiene products at McKenzie High School.

McKenzie School Board Approves $15.7 Million Budget
McKENZIE (July 7) — The McKenzie Special School District Board of Education approved a $15.7 million budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year during a brief meeting Tuesday afternoon. Also approved was the certified property tax rate of $.7483 per $100 assessed value, unchanged from last year. The tax rate is distributed between the General Purpose Fund ($.4898) and the Debt Service Fund ($.2585).
