From the May 19, 2026 e-EditionGLEASON, Tenn. — Funeral services for Michael Lynn Blassingame are on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, Gleason. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. and on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Blassingame, 65 years old, retired service technician for West TN Public Utility, died at Jackson General Hospital, Monday, May 11, 2026. He was born in McKenzie on August 23, 1960, to Willard Murray and Hazel Buse Blassingame.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Pruitt Blassingame, three daughters, Heather (Jeremy) Allen of Gleason, Murrie (Paul) Richmond of Gleason, Abby (Jason) Price of Hernando, MS, a sister, Lana D. Shaw of Jackson, and six grandchildren, Maggie, Kasen, Harper, Kolton, Benjamin, and Emory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Maxine Fortner, Doris Wagner, Lavelle Floyd, and one brother, Laymon Blassingame.
