From the Nov 26, 2024 e-Edition
McKENZIE — Students at McKenzie Middle School stepped up to support those people in their community who might need assistance during the holidays.
MMS students are divided into six groups, known as houses, who competed as they collected food to be distributed to McKenzie/Carroll County United Neighbors and Cash Express. The food is then distributed to families in need during Thanksgiving.
The grand total was 687 food items. The group known as Solavare House was the winner of the contest. They gathered 195 items of non-perishable food.
