Mrs. Lessie Mae Carden

Mrs. Lessie Mae Carden, 96, of Clarksburg died Friday, July 11, 2025, at Lifecare Center in Bruceton.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating. Interment to follow at Clarksburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Carden was born March 12, 1929, in Lexington to the late Felix and Sydney (Hale) Reeves. She was a member of the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at Carden’s Fruit Market with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Robert Carden, four sisters, Wilma Grant, Marie Smith, Dorothy Russell, Martha Warbritton, a brother, Felix Reeves Jr., James Reeves, Earl Reeves.

Her children survive her, Judy Chapman of Huntingdon, and Lois Carden (Phyllis), a sister, Loretta McCay, of New Johnsonville, and she also leaves behind four grandchildren, Marty Thompson, Angie Thompson, Stephanie Vincent, and Shannon Carden, as well as four great-grandchildren.
