Mustangs Fall to Cascade in Game One

BELL BUCKLE (May 13) — The Huntingdon High School Mustangs traveled to face the Cascade High School Champions Wednesday in Game One of the best-of-three TSSAA Class 2A Baseball Sectional Series. A home run by Cascade's Jayden Hathcock would provide the only runs of the pitching duel as the Champions won, 2-0.

The two-run home run came in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Mustang Colt Wood was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk and two stolen bases. Hayes Eubanks was 1-for-4.

Champion Jayden Hathcock was 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk, two RBIs and one run scored. Thomas Demarteleare was 2-for-3 with a double. Elijah Wesenberg was 1-for-3. Wickey Parker was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Caleb Crouch was 1-for-2. Jordan Childress, Xykaiah Dixon and River Maddox were each 1-for-3.

Caleb Crouch earned the complete-game shutout for Cascade, allowing three hits while walking five and striking out nine.

Caleb Ezell took the complete-game loss for Huntingdon, allowing two earned runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out five.
